Cubimension is great and all but I’ve been feeling that not enough of my friends read what I write anymore. Not that they ever did in a regular fashion, (or that it matters in any way) it’s just a cool ego-boost to know that what I’d post here anyway actually ends up in some friend’s eye retina or mid-term memory. Under these circumstances then, the chance that anyone might read one of my posts more than once is slim indeed.

It was naturally a surprise then when a friend of mine not only confessed his love for the site (as he had done before), he also admitted having read some of my posts many times! He even has favourites! Incredible isn’t it? So happy was I that I decided to dedicate a post to him. So here it is, just as I promised him!

We have spent many great times together, we’ve been friends ever since that New Year’s Eve of 2005… Oh I remember it quite well! Over the years, our friendship has had ups and downs but, when it came to games, rock music and women, he has always been there! In many moments of joy, as well as discomfort, he was there as well…

So who is this guy? What is he like?

He’s like Onizuka. He’s always and steadily after teenage girls. He has a gangster past… He doesn’t exactly love toro, or want to teach school kids… But I’m sure he has a secret passion to explore… equipment (!). He’s not exactly single or a virgin (lol) either, he’s soon getting to 22 though!

He’s like Luffy. He loves MEAT! (and makes fun of me when I try to support my pro-vegetarian ideas… ANYWHO!), he will give his life and anything he has for his nakama, he can at times be very very persistent about his opinions, but his nakama follow him nevertheless!

He’s also a lot like Anakin Skywalker. Getting involved with the Force and its ways (business studies, marketing etc) could bring out the best and worst in people. He’s gifted, his training begun with people hoping he’d use his powers for good benefit. Fear of losing his fierce love could be that which might upset and imbalance him and the things he might do to protect her could transform him, force him to act on impulse and make him into the very thing he swore to destroy (whatever that might be!). Who knows what might happen to him after that. The Force is strong with this one nevertheless…

He’s like Itachi of the Uchiha clan. In a powerful family, will he manage to surpass the legacy and, most importantly, confront his little brother (that he’s always had a love-hate relationship), knowing that it is very  possible that he will be the death of him? With his supreme ability (pictured) to look into people and their intentions, their emotions and their thoughts, will he indeed use his Sharingan for evil?

If he did not study to become a businessman, he could turn out a fine lawyer. He could pass as Miles Edgeworth’s double at times. Snarky, sarcastic, OBJECTION!-ous, matter-of-factly laughing in your face holding evidence, he could be one of the best prosecutors around, severely getting on the nerves of many aspiring defence attorneys and friends! (or both at the same time!) But he should always be wary of his allegiance!

The Angry Video Game Nerd has inspired him greatly as well. He was already fond of games, especially old Nintendo, Sega, Atari etc, but AVGN totally corrupted him. Now he loves (or hates to love? Loves to hate? I really, really don’t know!) playing crappy old games. He’s also building a huge video game console collection, just like The Nerd, one with which I’ve helped him with slightly!

As if Luffy wasn’t enough, he has some Sanji in him as well. Just like the Love Cook, he adores creating dishes for nakama and has a certain talent for it as well. Ooh I can’t forget that “failed” asian rice he cooked us that once in Mytilini, or of course all the other times he cooked many many different things to celebrate and treat friends… If it’s a lady he’s serving in particular though, multiply that enthusiasm by three. Of course, Sanji wouldn’t be Sanji without a cigarette between his lips at all times and indeed, our Sanji has a similar relationship with tobacco products (and the power boost a smoke might provide him with in a dire situation. Especially if he’s losing in Smash!). Also a fan of narghile. MELLORINE!

Of all the possible names, though, it is one that has stuck with him the most.

Kira. Why Kira? Well, for one, he secretly hates everyone and wants to kill them! But more specifically, he always has a master plan, always contemplating possibilities, options, schemes… Always watching to make his move underground, to strike… Using people as pawns to get closer to his own end.

My opinion is however that his Kira side is not more powerful than any of the others. That would make him a bastard indeed, wouldn’t it? Nobody would want to be a friend of the real Kira if he had a choice. This Kira though, even if he can be nerve-breaking and resistant to my ideas and beliefs (which has led to some fights and arguments between us) much more often he’s a loveable, great, awesome friend, one who knows how to be such a friend and one I’m happy to have…

…even if he calls me a hippie all the time…
